Gauteng MEC for Finance and Economic Affairs, Paul Mashatile, will deliver a
keynote address at the Gauteng Development Planning Indaba which will be held
on Wednesday, 31 January 2007 and Thursday, 1 February 2007.
The Indaba will give stakeholders and officials in the fields of policy
development and planning an opportunity to discuss national and provincial
policies that have an impact on development planning in Gauteng.
The highlight of the Indaba will be the launch of the Development Planning
Forum on 1 February 2007. The purpose of the Forum is to provide a platform for
development planning stakeholders to:
* give input into the co-ordination of development initiatives of the
Department of Economic Development
* consult Development Planning Stakeholders on issues relating to
development
* make recommendations to the MEC for Finance and Economic Affairs on any
matter related to development
* facilitate co-ordination and alignment of development strategies within
Gauteng.
