On 22 January 2007, Finance Minister Trevor Manuel and the
Statistician-General Pali Lehohla officially launched the Community Survey,
which is the largest ever household-based survey after Census to be conducted
by Statistics South Africa. The survey involved visits �280 000 households
across the country from 7�28 February 2007. The Statistician-General will on
Tuesday, 13 March 2007, present a report on the data collection phase of the
survey to the public.
