6 February 2006
1. Mr Jacob G Zuma will go on trial for rape on 13 February 2006.
2. Only accredited media organisations will be guaranteed seating in the
courtroom's media section. Unaccredited journalists will enter the courtroom as
ordinary members of the public pending the availability of seats.
3. Journalists and media organisations requiring accreditation should apply
with the NPA's Media Relations Unit by the end of business on Wednesday, 8
February 2006.
4. Please note that accreditation will be awarded to media organisations. It
is therefore important that organisations forward names of nominated
journalists together with confirmations in official letterheads. These should
be accompanied by a copy of each journalist's identity document (ID) and the
press/media card.
5. Whilst all efforts will be made to accommodate as many journalists in the
courtroom as possible, not all applications for accreditation will be
successful due to limited seating inside court.
6. Photo journalists and cameramen will not be accredited as cameras and
recording equipment will not be allowed in court.
7. Applications should be emailed to lucindamoonieya@npa.gov.za or faxed to
(012) 843 2123.
