The Minister of Education, Naledi Pandor and the nine provincial MECs of
Education will on Monday, 12 January 2009 at 13h00, host a media briefing
following the special Council of Education Ministers meeting to be held at the
Southern Sun Hotel, OR Tambo International Airport.
The meeting comes barely two weeks after Minister Naledi Pandor released
National Senior Certificate results and two days before the reopening of
schools in the inland provinces.
Among issues to be discussed are:
1. Technical report of the 2008 National Senior Certificate results
2. Provincial reports on the performance and challenges in the 2008 National
Certificate examinations
3. Proposed interventions to support the implementation of the National
Curriculum Statement (Grades 10-12)
