Gauteng MEC for Housing, Nomvula Mokonyane will on Thursday, 8 November 2007
visit the Princess Plot, Roodepoort, west of Johannesburg, to inform the
community about the housing development project for the area. The visit forms
part of the Gauteng Imbizo Focus Week of direct interaction with communities,
which was held from 22 to 28 October 2007.
The department embarked on a community outreach programme to communicate its
plans to the communities. The Princess Plot, which used to be a mining area,
has more than 2 000 shacks situated on an unsafe land. The development in this
area will benefit more than 10 000 families.
