N Mapisa-Nqakula to visit Hermanus, 29 May

Home Affairs Minister meets the Hermanus farming community,
brings mobile services to the people

The Minister of Home Affairs, Ms Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula will tomorrow, 29
May 2007, visit farming communities around Hermanus in the Western Cape to
discuss issues and bring services closer to the people. This intervention is
geared to allow the Minister to understand firsthand the challenges faced by
the farming populace with regards to access to Home Affairs services.

As part of the proceedings, the Minister will hand over 60 IDs to the
community and roll out a mass registration of birth certificates, Identity
Documents, passports and other Home Affairs services.

She will then interact with the community in the form of an Imbizo Forum,
soliciting their views in relation to improving the quality of service delivery
that is rendered by Home Affairs and Government in general.
