citizens in the North West Province

As part of the 50th Anniversary of the Womenâs Anti-Pass March, the Home
Affairs Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula will, together with about 500 senior
citizens of the rural village of Setlagole of North West, embark on a symbolic
march to commemorate the 1956 Womenâs March.
Struggle veterans who took part in the 1956 anti-pass march have been
identified and will also form part of the event.
The Minister will also deliver services of the Department of Home Affairs
after the march. These include, taking applications for Identity Documents,
Birth Certificates as well as administering programmes such as
Check-Your-Marital Status campaign.
The Minister will be joined by North Westâs MEC for Social Development,
Nikiwe Mangqo, Mayors of Ratlou Municipality and Central District Municipality,
Petros Setlhogo and Themba Gwabeni.
Home Affairs has adopted the theme: âAge of Hope: From an oppressive dompass
to an empowering ID bookâ, to mark this yearâs Womenâs Month activities.
