Pretoria: The suggestion that Minister Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma has now
entered the current succession debate as reported by the media articles today,
Friday, 16 November 2007, media is both erroneous and misleading.
In the interview the Minister had on Kaya FM on Thursday, 15 November 2007,
Minister Dlamini Zuma, rather than her specific role, was dealing with generic
questions about the leadership role of women in general both within and outside
the African National Congress (ANC).
Accordingly, Minister Dlamini Zuma has not entered into the current fray
about succession within the ANC, as suggested by the media articles today. In
this regard, Minister Dlamini Zuma expresses her confidence in the leadership
of President Thabo Mbeki.
