Minister Dlamini Zuma to address United Nations Human Rights
Council (UNHRC) in Geneva, Switzerland

4 March 2009

Geneva: South African Foreign Minister Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will today,
Wednesday, 4 March 2009, address the UNHRC in Geneva Switzerland.

Minister Dlamini Zuma will address the meeting within the context of South
Africa's conviction that the multilateral system of global governance remains
the only hope in addressing current challenges facing humanity today.
In this regard, Minister Dlamini Zuma is expected to address the meeting on
current human rights challenges facing the world against the background of the
current financial and economic crisis afflicting the rest of humanity.

Minister Dlamini Zuma arrived early Wednesday in Geneva, supported by
Foreign Affairs Deputy Director-General George Nene and South Africa's
Ambassador Dr Claudine Mtshali and other senior government officials.

Later on Wednesday, Minister Dlamini Zuma is expected to hold several
bilateral discussions with the Kenyan and Sri Lankan delegations before
addressing a meeting of Ambassadors based in Geneva scheduled for Thursday, 5
March 2009.
