20 August 2007

Truck driver for Freight Dynamic, Paul Mananyetjo is the overall winner for
the Mpumalanga Driver of The Year competition which was held in Witbank on
Friday and Saturday, 17 and 18 August 2007. The excited Mananyetjo received R
18 000 and a trophy as prize gifts. He also came top on the Articulated
Category. The category is only for participants who specialise on driving
trucks with single trailers.

The Driver of The Year competition consisted of six categories: Male Bus
Category, Female bus Category, Rigid Category, Artic Category and the Novice
Category. Last year, Mananyetjo who works as a truck driver for a company
called Freight Dynamic represented the country in Luxemburg during the
International Driver of the Year competition. This came after Mananyetjo won
the regional, provincial and national competitions during last year's
competition.

A total of 51 drivers from respective transport companies that won during
the regional competition, participated in the Mpumalanga Provincial Driver of
the Year (DOTY) competition. Besides monetary incentives to the tune of R12 000
for each category winner, all 18 winners will represent the province in the
National Driver of the Year Competition to be held in October this year at
Bloemfontein. Thereafter, the winners will participate during the international
competition in Italy.

The Driver of the Year competition sought to improve the standard of driving
amongst drivers of heavy motor vehicles and ultimately to reduce the resultant
road accidents and fatalities on our roads. It also aims to stimulate drivers
within the heavy vehicle industry.
