The Gauteng MEC for Education Angie Motshekga will hold an educational
summit to review and engage with stakeholders on the state of education in
Soweto, Kathorus and Sedibeng.
"On my oversight visit to school at the beginning of the academic year 2006,
I was deeply concerned about the state of performance of our schools, schools
infrastructure, teacher morale, lack of parental involvement and communities in
the running of our schools. I then came to a conclusion that perhaps we should
engage with the communities concerned and diagnose and try to find common
solutions to bring back the glory in our schools," said Motshekga.
