The Minister of Health has been made aware of the response of the Sunday
Times to the letter of demand calling upon the newspaper to hand over to the
Minister all records concerning her hospitalisation, medical treatment and
condition.
The Minister is currently in Lusaka, Zambia attending the Southern African
Development Community (SADC) Council of Ministers meeting. The Sunday Times is,
admittedly, in possession of the confidential medical records of the Minister.
The newspaper has failed to comply with the demand to return these medical
records. The Minister has therefore directed her legal team to proceed with the
litigation against the Sunday Times.
