The continuation of our historical tasks to deliver basic services to our
people in pursuant of the goals of the Freedom Charter is on course. Housing is
a heritage for our people it is through provision of houses that our people's
dignity will be restored. MEC for Local Government and Housing Maite
Nkoana-Mashabane will be launching a housing project in Musina Municipality.
The number of units allocated to be launched is 1 839 with total value of the
project costing R71,4 Million due to be completed during the current financial
year.
In concert with our election manifesto of having unemployment and
eradication of poverty by 2014, 192 people will be employed in the project for
which 60 will be women and 60 will be men, and 72 will be youth comprising of
both young females and young men.
The launching of house will take place at Lesley Manyathela Stadium at 14h00
on 11 September 2007.
