Statement on the suspension of senior officials

Home Affairs Director-General, Mavuso Msimang today (7 November 2007)
announced that the investigation into the alleged misconduct of the Deputy
Director-General: Civic Services and the Chief Financial Officer is nearing
completion. The investigation has resulted in the levelling of charges against
both. A disciplinary hearing will commence on 8 November 2007.
The department will not engage further with the media in this regard at this
point in time.
