bilateral relations

South Africa and Namibia will for the first time forge bilateral relations
that could result in both countries sharing a common understanding in relation
to matters pertaining to labour and economic issues.
The Namibian delegation led by their Labour Minister Mr Alpheus Naruseb, is
expected to arrive in Cape Town this week and they are scheduled to hold
discussions with the Minister, the Director-General and senior officials with
the intention of sharing information on how provincial offices can play a role
in discharging the mandate of the Department.
Presentations will be made on:
* an overview of the department and branch responsibilities
* labour market information and statistics
* international relations and development assistance
* Unemployment Insurance Fund
* occupational health and safety
* labour inspections.
