Kingâs Silamba honouring festivities
6 March 2009
It is that time of the year once again when the small Ko-Mjekejeke
community, just north of Pretoria, will be indulging in feast and dance in
commemoration of its late monarch, King Silamba this weekend.
Headed by reigning King Makhosonke II of the Ndebele nation, the annual two
day King Silamba Commemoration Day at the Manala Traditional Authorityâs
headquarters in Wolmansthal will, as always, be graced with the attendance by
Labour Minister Membathisi Mdladlana.
Minister Mdladlana, who will be a keynote speaker on the opening day of the
celebrations tomorrow, has in the past used the occasion to enhance the
governmentâs skills empowerment drive.
The media is invited.
