Mafikeng â The North West Department of Agriculture, Conservation and
Environment today received with shock and disbelief the sad news of the death
of Agri-NW CEO, Mr Willie Auret.
Auret who was involved in a car accident late last month, was seriously
injured but his condition was later reported to be improving. The accident
which happened on the Lichtenburg â Koster road, also claimed his wifeâs life
who was buried early this month.
âThe department and the farming community have lost someone who has
dedicated his life towards ensuring a better and improved service for all
farmers in the province and the country. Not only have we lost the farmersâ
organisation leader, but someone who worked tirelessly to restore the level of
agricultural interest amongst all groups of society. We urge all provincial and
national farming organisations to provide the necessary support to the Auret
family during this trying moment,â said MEC Mandlenkosi Mayisela.
The department sends its heartfelt condolence to the friends, colleagues and
relatives of the Auret family during this moment of grief.
Funeral arrangements are not yet known.
