Private Network system
23 January 2009
Please note the Department of Land Affairs (DLA) will be introducing a
modern-day technology network system called the Virtual Private Network (VPN).
The implementation of this state-of-the-art system is well on track and the
testing of network connectivity has already been completed. We, therefore,
would like to inform all that the cut-over date to VPN is scheduled for the
weekend starting from Friday, 23 January 2009, at 15h00. During this time,
please be advised that all electonic-mails and external connections such as
internet, web access, webgp, etc; will be affected until Monday, 26 January
2009.
With less than 24 hours remaining before the cut-over, the project team is
currently working tirelessly in an effort to ensure that the migration of the
department from the Government Central Core Network (GCCN) to the Virtual
Private Network is as seamless as possible. There is a probability of problems
arising after the cut-over process and we would really appreciate your patience
while we work on resolving these problems.
The Department of Land Affairs remains committed to providing its
stakeholders with the most effective and efficient network system. We would
like to further sensitise you of the complexities of implementing such a
network.
