As part of an ongoing national campaign aimed at reviewing minimum wages for
the taxi industry, the Department of Labour officials in the Free State will
embark on a series of public hearings with the industry stakeholders between 15
and 23 October, in Bloemfontein, Welkom and Phuthaditjhaba.
The current minimum wages will expire by the end of June next year, and new
wages should be in existence by 1 July 2008.
The hearings will be open to the media. Full details of the programme are
attached.
