The second round of the Compensation Fund Services Imbizo in Eastern Cape
has seen a further payment of R2,3 million to beneficiaries in the East London
area. This is on top of a R2,3 million payout the fund made in the same area
during the past week adding up to an earlier R3,1 million that went to
claimants in Port Elizabeth during the first round of the campaign. Many
clients of the fund, especially medical providers, are continuing to take
advantage of the drive as it is currently in Mthatha for the last round until 5
April.
Labour officials are working hard to process all outstanding payments and
answer all queries related to the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and
Diseases Act (COIDA) 1993, (Act 130 of 1993). Clients of the Compensation Fund
who cannot attend these Imbizos are encouraged to visit the nearest local
Labour Centre where our staff will gladly process the claims and/or COIDA
enquiries.
