The Minister for Agriculture and Land Affairs, Ms Lulu Xingwana, will from 5
â 7June 2006, lead a delegation to the launch of the African Land and
Fellowship Initiative in London. This is at the invitation of the South African
High Commission in London and the Royal Agricultural College.
The Fellowship will focus on sustainable rural agricultural development with
emphasis on the needs of emerging farmers in South Africa and the Southern
African Development Community (SADC) region. The delegation is comprised of top
officials from the Department of Agriculture and representatives from the
National African Farmersâ Union (NAFU), Agri-SA, Umsobomvu Youth Fund and the
National Emergent Red Meat Producersâ Organisation.
