All media are invited to a three day Youth Summit on Agrarian and Land
Reform to be held from 2 to 4 August 2007 at the Saint George Hotel in Kempton
Park, near Johannesburg.
The Ministry for Agriculture and Land Affairs will have a dialogue with the
youth in an effort to increase their participation in agriculture and therefore
address the issue of reducing hunger, fighting poverty and unemployment.
A broad spectrum of youth active in Agriculture and rural development and
also from different youth formations from the nine provinces will participate
in the Summit.
The Summit follows from the announcement made by Minister Lulama Xingwana
during her Budget Vote speech early this year that a Youth Summit will take
place before the end of the financial year.
