Bay Executive Mayor sign MOU to fast track the implementation of Zanemvula
Human Settlement Project

National Housing Minister, Lindiwe Sisulu, Provincial Housing MEC, Toko Xasa
and the Executive Mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay, Nondumiso Maphazi will sign a
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to begin a partnership that will fast track
the implementation of the Zanemvula Human Settlement project in Nelson Mandela
Bay.

Among the key elements of the MOU is the deployment of a national task team
and the appointment of Thubelisha Homes, a specialist project management
vehicle of the Ministry of Housing to partner with the Nelson Mandela Bay
Municipality to unblock and fast track delivery.

With almost 20 000 houses providing accommodation to almost 100 000 people
built with both social and economic amenities, Zanemvula Human Settlement
Project is the biggest housing project in the Eastern Cape and one of the
biggest inclusionary housing projects in the country. The project has a capital
investment of more than R1 billion.
