We as the provincial Department of Public Works have taken note with concern
of the article appeared on the Weekend Witness dated Saturday, 25 August 2007,
under the caption "Sexist e-mail: govt man in trouble."
As the department we seriously condemn the abuse of government resources
particularly by government employees. We are really outraged by the nature of
this e-mail especially in a department led by a female MEC and a female Head of
department.
As the department we condone such behaviour and will do everything in our
power to promote equality in all aspects of our work within the department. The
department will investigate this matter and deal with the issue in terms of
Public Service Regulations.
