A man from Dumbuza, Edendale in Pietermaritzburg, has been arrested in
connection with allegations of fraud following a scam in which he uses the
names of senior government officials.
Police are holding the man, who will appear in court soon, and have sounded
a warning to the public not to be manipulated by persons who appear to offer
lucrative deals using names of government officials to look credible.
The KwaZulu-Natal Office of the Premier, as head of the Provincial
Government, has asked the public to be alert on such scams and report any
person involved to the nearest police station.
