KwaZulu-Natal teachers are the best

KwaZulu-Natal teachers have done it again! The walked away with awards in
six of the eight categories of the 2007 National Teachers Awards Ceremony on
Thursday night, 15 November 2007.

The province obtained two first positions: Mr P Naicker of Nonhlevu
Secondary, Ilembe District, received the Excellence Life Time Achievement
Award, while the best secondary teacher was Ms LP Madonsela of Dikane Secondary
School in the Vryheid District.

In the Excellence Primary School Leadership category Ms MT Ngcobo of
Mzingwnya Primary in the Empangeni District won the second position. Also in
second position was Ms MM Mngomezulu of the "Do It PLC Centre in the Empangeni
District in the category: Excellence in Adult Based Education and Training
(Abet).

Taking the third position in Excellence in Early Childhood Development was
Ms Ansuyah Mahes of Woodlands Primary in the Umgungundlovu District. In the
Excellence in Inclusive Education category the Nokukhanya Primary School in the
Amajuba District won a third position.

KwaZulu-Natal Education MEC Ina Cronjé and Education head Dr Cassius Lubisi
said they are extremely proud of the KwaZulu-Natal teachers, who have again
excelled at the National Teachers Awards ceremony. It is that extra effort to
teach and guide our children that makes the difference. Well done! You have
done us proud!"
