KwaZulu-Natal's top isicathamiya group, the High Stars, will top the billing
on the Durban beachfront tomorrow (Wednesday) night at an Awards for Excellence
function.
The Awards, organised by the eThekwini Cluster of the KwaZulu-Natal
Department of Arts, Culture and Tourism, recognise achievements by the region's
artists in all genres.
Five Awards for Excellence will be presented by the MEC, Mrs Weziwe Thusi,
and 15 Awards for Achievement. Forty Certificates of Appreciation will be
handed over.
The High Stars, who are from Umlazi, won the isicathamiya category of the
Provincial Music, Song and Dance Competition last year, organised by the
Department. They leave soon for a tour of Hong Kong.
