Bontle ke Botho (BkB) prize money

Participants in the Gauteng Bontle ke Botho Greening and Cleaning Campaign
will be rewarded by Gauteng Department of Agriculture, Conservation and
Environment's (GDACE) for their hard work and contribution on Saturday, 1
December 2007.
The awards ceremony will be the fifth since the launch of the BkB Campaign
in 2002, after the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD). The campaign
engages schools, wards and municipalities in projects aimed at maintaining a
healthy environment, create sustainable jobs and contribute towards fighting
poverty and job creation.
Gauteng MEC for Agriculture, Conservation and Environment, Khabisi
Mosunkutu, who will officiate at the awards ceremony, is expected to briefly
highlight some of the milestones of the project during its five years of
existence. Mosunkutu is also expected to reflect on the way forward for this
environmental project. The Gauteng MEC for Education, Angie Motshekga, who is
one of the guest speakers, is expected to talk about the integration of
environmental issues in the school syllabus.
Winners will be awarded for participating in the following categories of the
project:
* waste management
* sustainable agricultural projects
* energy efficiency
* water conservation
* greening projects.
