K Mosunkutu to deliver free uniforms, 15 Jan

Gauteng MEC for Agriculture, Conservation and Environment, Mr
Khabisi Mosunkutu helps clothe needy school children

14 January 2009

MEC Khabisi Mosunkutu will deliver free uniforms to the needy learners of
Paul Mohlaka Primary School in Pimville on Thursday.

Delivery of free school uniforms to needy learners coincides with one of the
goals enshrined in the ruling party's manifesto, the goal of improving
education and helping to build the country's skills base.

Initiated during 2005 as part of the Bana Pele (children first) campaign,
delivery of free school uniforms to needy learners is part of a wider basket of
services ear-marked for disadvantaged communities. Free services offered as
part of this package include free learner transport for pupils staying over
five kilometres (5 km) away from their place of learning, school feeding
schemes, child support grants, free basic health care and exemption from paying
school fees.

The delivery of these school uniforms will take place as follows:
Date: 15 January 2009
Time: 09h00
Place: Paul Mohlaka Primary School, near Pimville Community Centre and Progress
High School, Zone 4, Pimville.
