The Chief Prosecutor in the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), North West
province, Rachel Nengovhela, will award the best performing prosecutors in the
Criminal Justice cluster at a gala dinner to be held on Friday, 30 November
2007, Mmabatho Tusk at 18h30.
The awards are an annual event which was initiated in 2003. The purpose
thereof are to reward the best performing prosecutors in the cluster for their
dedicated efforts through out the year and to also recognise other stakeholders
such as magistrates, interpreters and attorneys whose efforts contributed to
better case flow management in the cluster.
The prosecutors will be awarded in eight different categories which are:
* the best maintenance prosecutor of the year
* the most improved prosecutor
* the most consistent prosecutor
* the bet controlled prosecutor
* the best district court
* the best regional court
* best court of the year
* the Chief Prosecutor's Special Award, The prosecutor who has been a role
model
Other role players who have made a contribution in the uplifting of women
and who served as role models in the NPA will also be awarded.
Among the guests expected to attend this ceremony are the Premier of the
North West province, Edna Molewa, Judge President of the North West High Court,
Judge Mogoeng, Acting National Director of Public Prosecutions and provincial
MECs.
