Transport Minister, Jeff Radebe will officially launch the Khayelitsha
Express Train service in Khayelitsha, Cape Town. The Minister will be joined by
Western Cape Acting Premier and MEC for Community Safety and Liaison, Leonard
Ramatlakane, City of Cape Town Executive Mayor, Helen Zille and South African
Rail Commuter Corporation (SARCC) Chief Executive Officer, Lucky Montana.
The daily express, set to revolutionise and set new standards in rail
commuter travel in the Western Cape province, will service the Cape
Town-Khayelitsha corridor in just under 38 minutes, reducing usual travelling
time by 30 percent. The Express stops at only three stations namely, Mandalay,
Heideveld and Mutual.

NB: Special arrangements regarding transport:
07h00: First of two courtesy buses depart from Old Marine Drive (in front of
Blue Train Lounge adjacent to Lea's parking) to Khayelitsha Station launch
venue.
07h30: Second and last of courtesy buses depart guests who make use of
courtesy bus return on the Khayelitsha Express.
