Icasa to hold hearings for Radio Orania's application for a
broadcasting licence

29 August 2007

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa(Icasa), will hold
public hearings for Radio Orania's application for a community sound
broadcasting licence. The hearings follow an Invitation To Apply (ITA) that was
issued by Icasa in June 2006 calling for interested parties to apply for
community sound broadcasting licences.

Orania FM, if granted a licence, intends conducting a broadcasting service
to serve an interest community that lives in the town of Orania in the Northern
Cape. Radio Orania intends to cater for the particular language, religious and
cultural needs and interests of what it calls 'all Christian Afrikaners people'
living within the said areas.

The hearings are to be held as follows:
Date: 30 August 2007
Time: 10h30
Venue: Kimberly, Savoy Hotel, De Beers Road
