(ICT) infrastructure for 2010

Communications Minister Dr Ivy Matsepe-Casaburri invites all media to a
press briefing on the state of readiness of the information and communications
technology (ICT) infrastructure for both the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup⢠and
the 2010 FIFA World Cupâ¢. Details of the briefing are as follows:
Date: Tuesday, 24 February 2009
Venue: Loftus stadium, City of Tshwane
Time: 11h00
Government has made a total of 17 guarantees to FIFA in relation to the 2010
FIFA World Cupâ¢. The guarantees commit government to putting in place, amongst
other things, relevant telecommunications and information technology, media
centre and the International Broadcast Centre.
Minister Matsepe-Casaburri will use the briefing to demonstrate the state of
readiness of the ICT infrastructure at Loftus stadium and other 2010
venues.
