The South African Human Rights Commission is pleased to announce that
President Kgalema Motlanthe has appointed Ms Pregs Govender as a full time
Commissioner for a period of seven years.
The Commission welcomes her appointment and believes that with her extensive
experience and principled work in the advancement of the rights of the
downtrodden and marginalised ,Ms Govender will make a valuable contribution to
the achievement of the mandate of the South African Human Rights
Commission.
Ms Govender will be based at the Cape Town Office of the Commission.
