The Gauteng Health Department will commemorate World TB Day on 24 March
2008.
Themed "Stop TB, Complete your treatment!!!" the department will be
emphasising that TB is curable. This is on the proviso that a patient completes
treatment. People must not die or develop multi drug resistant (MDR) or extreme
drug resistant (XDR) TB.
The event is also aimed at teaching members of the community about the signs
of TB and also encouraging them to assist those who have TB by walking with
them through the journey of treatment.
