The Department of Health has allocated R1 413 421,92 for the funding of
non-governmental organisations for the year 2007/2008. The funding is available
for projects and programmes focussing on information, education and
communication and the support for people living with HIV and AIDS.
The NGO consortiums are requested to apply. Only certain consortiums will be
funded. Criteria are as follows:
* NGO Consortiums with good track record
* Registered Consortium as non-profit organisation(NPO)/NGO
* Audited financial reports for all consortiums who were previously
funded
* Annual reports and progress reports since previous funding
* Consortiums established according to Local Municipality Areas.
Proposals should cover an executive summary, constitution, area of
operation, beneficiaries, and the executive committee. Consortiums should also
submit a binded business plan, budget and a schematic plan outlining the costs,
timeframes, activities amongst others.

227, Bloemfontein, 9300 or submitted to the Assistant Managers: Community
Development in the District Offices of the Department of Health.
