Foreign Affairs on Ugandan plane crash update

Update two: Aircraft accident at Entebbe International Airport,
Kampala, Uganda – no confirmation yet regarding nationalities of Ugandan plane
crash

Pretoria: Subsequent to an earlier media advisory issued today by the
Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), with regards to a plane crash in Uganda;
the department wishes to communicate the following:

* That the Ugandan Government through its Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is
currently conducting salvage efforts that seek to retrieve the aircraft that
crashed earlier this morning.
* That the Ugandan Government through its Civil Aviation Authority has
indicated that the identities/nationalities of the people on board will be
disclosed after their next of kin have been informed.
* Lastly, that the Department of Foreign Affairs will await further
communication from the Government of Uganda to be communicated to our High
Commission in Kampala, which will then officially, advise the Department of
Foreign Affairs in Pretoria on whether or not one of the deceased on board is
our national.
