Southern African Development Community (SADC) delegation
arrives in Harare

Harare: South African President and Chair of SADC Kgalema Motlanthe, SADC
appointed facilitators in Zimbabwe, former South African President Thabo Mbeki
as well as Mozambican President and Deputy Chair of the Organ on Politics,
Defence and Security Co-operation President Armando Guebuza today Monday, 19
January 2009, arrived in Harare ahead of the inter-party dialogue scheduled
with political role-players in Zimbabwe later today.

The meeting of the leaders will be followed by a meeting of the negotiating
teams which is expected to discuss outstanding matters related to the
implementation of the Global Agreement, including the processing of Zimbabwe
Constitution Amendment 19.

This comes ahead of the Parliamentary session scheduled for Tuesday, 20
January 2009.

In this regard, the SADC delegation is expected to hold discussions with
President Robert Mugabe, Morgan Tsvangirai and Arthur Mutambara.
