Foreign Affairs on abducted South Africans in Yemen

South African Government remains optimistic about the
possibility of the release of the three South Africans abducted in Yemen

The South African Embassy in Riyadh and Honorary Consul in Yemen will
continue to do everything in their power, working with the Yemeni authorities,
to help find a speedy and amicable resolution to the matter, said Foreign
Affairs spokesperson, Nomfanelo Kota.

In this regard, Ambassador John Davies will continue to be in constant
contact with the Yemeni authorities with the ultimate aim of ensuring the
release of the three South Africans. “We continue to pray and hope that they
will be freed soon," concluded Ms Kota. The government will continue to monitor
developments in this matter and inform the public accordingly.
