Handing over of torch of peace

The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mr Enver Surty, will
hand over the torch of peace to the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) for
the 2009 national and provincial elections today at 14h00 at a ceremony at
Constitutional Hill in Braamfontein, Johannesburg.
The Chairperson of the IEC, Dr Brigalia Bam, and the Chief Electoral
Officer, Advocate Pansy Tlakula, will receive the torch as a symbol for
peaceful elections on 22 April 2009.
