Eastern Cape Health on reporting policies

Reporting policy handed over to hospital managers

16 April 2009

The Strategic Planning Unit of the department handed out reporting policies
to hospital managers of the Amathole District at the East London Health
Resource Centre on 15 April 2009.

This emanated after the formulation of the Woza 15 project that the
department set objectives on and the Auditor-General (AG) complained of the
department not having reporting policies hence a process of engaging managers
has started.

Senior Manager for Intergrated Strategic Planning, Mr Luvuyo Tshoko said
these documents are not for display in offices but for guidance, dissemination
and mostly for the betterment of working conditions. "This year we want to put
focus on hospital functionality," Tshoko said.

Superintended-General (SG), Mr Lawrence Boya said it was indeed a joyful
moment when one sees completion of such a task and he also urged managers to
make the policies accessible. "Part of the policies is a deliberate action to
improve the functionality of institutions", the SG said.
