Democracy Youth and Education Campaign

The Deputy Minister of Education, Mr Enver Surty, together with the Deputy
Minister of Home Affairs, Mr Malusi Gigaba, will on Monday, 19 March visit
Sedibeng FET College in Sebokeng (Vereeniging) as part of the Youth and
Democracy Education Campaign.

The Youth and Democracy Education Campaign is a partnership between the
departments of Education and Home Affairs. It is geared towards ensuring that
young South Africa participate in the country's democratic processes, and also
promoting youth access and utilisation of government services. On the day of
the event, young people will be given the opportunity to interact with both the
deputy ministers and other government officials. They will also be able to
apply for birth certificates, identity documents, etc and access other
government services.

Programme
Time: 08h00
Activities: Mobile service delivery starts
Description: Government departments will provide services and FET colleges will
have displays.

Time: 09h00-11h00
Activities: Cultural activities
Description: Local groups will entertain

Time: 11h00
Activities: Interactive session with both Deputy Ministers. The session will
take a form of an Imbizo at which young people will be able to ask questions
and give comments to the Deputy Ministers.

Time: 13h00
