E Molewa to attend North West Branding Conference, 10 Sept

North West recognises the value of branding

4 September 2007

The North West Provincial Government will host a Branding Conference on
Monday, 10 September 2007 at Mmabatho Convention Centre.

The conference, to be attended by Members of the Executive Council, Mayors,
Municipal Managers, Chief Executive Officers of government-supported
institutions, government communicators and senior managers, will be addressed
by the Chief Executive Officer of the International Marketing Council and the
Premier of the North West, Edna Molewa.

The provincial government recognises that brand building is not an event,
but a process which will require the active participation, input and focused
involvement by all relevant stakeholders. For this reason, government has
followed an all-inclusive process. Participants will include government across
all levels, civil society, business, the media industry and experts in the
field.

The Branding Conference is part of a process that would eventually lead to
the development of a unique brand of the province, and to build a positive
image that will, among other things, characterise the interaction of the people
of the North West with the rest of the country and world. This will assist the
province to convey a consistent, common image and identity to outsiders.

Members of the media are invited.
