allocate slots for party election broadcasts

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) received a
draft list of political party candidates for the 2009 national and provincial
elections from the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC). In terms of the
Regulations on party election broadcast, political advertisements, the
equitable treatment of political parties by broadcasting licensees and related
matters 2009 and as per the provisions of section 57 of the Electronic
Communications Act of 2005, the Authority will allocate time slots for each
political organisation.
In light of the above, the Authority is inviting all parties who are
contesting the 2009 national and provincial election to the allocation of the
slots for party election broadcasts.
The Authority will allocate time slots as per the following arrangement:
Date: 24 March 2009
Venue: Block C Presentation Room, 164 Katherine Street, Sandton
Time: 09h30 for 10h00
All interested political parties, broadcasters including members of the
public are welcome to attend.
