The Mpumalanga MEC for the Department of Local Government and Housing,
Candith Mashego-Dlamini, will hand over of houses to two destitute women, Ms
Josina Nompuru Ndlovu in Vosman who is looking after her two grand children and
Annah Nozizwe Masango who has two disabled dependents, will benefit from the
National Campaign on Violence Against Women and Children. Both women have been
waiting for houses for a very long time.
During the MEC's recent visit to Emalahleni Local Municipality, she was
informed of the situation that the two women were experiencing and instructed
that building of the houses commence. These are the houses that the women and
their dependents will benefit. As part of the 16 Days campaign, the department
will also be building house for a woman beneficiary who had to be built a
special house because of being overweight and not being able to leave in a
normal house. The woman has since passed away but the house will be given to
her dependants.
The MEC Candith Mashego-Dlamini with other dignitaries and members from the
private sector and civil society will visit the different houses to hand them
over and then proceed to a community meeting. The community meeting is
scheduled as follows:
