The South African Minister of Minerals and Energy, Ms Buyelwa Sonjica, MP,
is at the United Nations in New York to attend the 15th Committee on
Sustainable Development (CSD). This is part of the process flowing out of the
World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) in Johannesburg in 2002.
The 15th CSD this year has its emphasis on Energy and Women. The Minister
will also be hosting a side event that will highlight how far South Africa has
gone in its attempts to address issues of energy and their impact on women. The
side event details are as follows:
