MEC of Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Barbara Creecy invites members
of the media to the launch of School Sport Mass Participation Programme. The
programme is part of many interventions geared towards developing sports at
grassroots level. Thousands of learners from all over Gauteng are set to
participate and benefit in the programme.
The objective of the programme is to facilitate participation in sport and
recreation activities within disadvantaged schools focusing in high crime
areas, farm and rural areas, by providing for sporting codes that include:
Soccer, rugby, athletics, cricket and basketball.
