The Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Barbara Creecy,
will launch the Five-a-Side football tournament as part of the province's
preparations for Soccerex 2007.
The launch is set to kick-start a series of regional events culminating in
the finals to take place at the Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton on Sunday, 25
November 2007 ahead of the Soccerex Football Festival to be played by the
European and African football legends.
The tournament, which is part of the Soccerex World Football Convention,
aims to deepen youth participation in sport and aims to contribute to football
development initiatives linked to legacy projects related to the 2010 Fifa
World Cup and beyond.
