B Cele to open multiple projects, 18 Apr

KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Mr Bheki Cele,
KwaZulu-Natal will be at Msinga Top at the KwaGxobanyawo Sports grounds of
Usizo High School at 09h00 on Saturday 18 April 2009.

D1273 was upgraded from June 2008 to March 2009 at the estimated cost of R53
million. Dicky Pedestrian Bridge was constructed between April 2006 and
November 2007 at approximately R5,2 million. Zonyama local road was constructed
between January 2008 and August 2008 at the estimated cost of R18,5
million.

Ezingulubeni local road constructed between June 2007 and July 2008 to the
total estimated value of R3,3 million. Main road P32 was upgraded at
approximately R20,2 million. The total value of these projects is estimated at
R100,2 million. The department is injecting R5,3 million for the construction
of Ezibomvini road which will be 4,7 kilometre in length.

“Since our liberation in 1994 we as the government have been committed to
bettering the lives of the people, especially those who reside in rural areas.
Under the theme Imisebenz’iyabonakala, sibuyisela okwabantu kubantu, the
KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport continues to defend the weak at all
levels of society,” said Cele
