KwaZulu Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Mr Bheki
Cele, will host the Transport Indaba on Tuesday, 30 October 2007, at Vryheid,
Stillwaters Hotel commencing at 09h00.
The 2007 Transport Indaba will focus on various issues that include; the
report back to stakeholders on the issues raised last year, to give recognition
to stakeholders in respect of their achievements, to give recognition to
employees who have displayed excellence in service delivery and lastly to
release the Green Paper on Transport Policy for Consultation.
In an effort to recognise excellence in service delivery, the department
will introduce a "Service Excellence Award System" and utilise this opportunity
to grant recognition to their stakeholders and employees who have excelled in
their various work spheres.
"We embark in promoting a transparent and accountable government plan in
accordance with the needs of our customers and ensure effective, efficient and
transparent delivery of services through the appropriate involvement of the
public and through regular and active reporting" said Cele.
